Posting 3

Hi guys! It's me again. I am writing about the bizzare facts about animals. After reading a website(http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/Animals/) provided by my teacher

Giant Pandas
Giant Pandas live in the mountains of southwestern China, is one of the rarest animal in the world as there is only about 1000 of these animals left in the wild now. One reason as to why there are so little of them left is that bamboo makes up 99% of their diet and they don';t know how to move to other bamboo forests when one is destroyed, so for this reason, they starve to death. Poor pandas!

Tigers
The tiger is the largest wild cat in the wild. They wait until dark to hunt and are able to bring down prey such as dear and atelope. They eat about twelve pounds a meal, but these tigers are also endangered....

Polar Bears
Polar bears live in the Arctic and their main source of food is seals. They have paw pads with rough surfaces which prevent them from slipping on th ice. Polar bears may in near future become extinct due to global warming. They are also the largest of all bears.

Black Rhinoceros
Sadly, this rhinos are also endangered.(Most of the creatures I write is endangered) They don't see very well but scientists think they can hear and smell well.(fortunately)Black rhinos live in the wild of Africa and they eat only vegetation and no meat. They may live up to 45 years old in captivity. While rhinos usually try to avoid humans, they could get ferocious when they are cornered or feel threatened. WE are their main enemies as we hunt them for their horn because we believe it to have medical properties, which it does'nt.

Snowy Owls(a.k.a hedwig to harry potter fans)
Finally, a species that is not endangered(hard to fine). Males of these species are generally whiter than females(like us), and as they grow older, they grow whiter as they grow older(like us). So we can conclude that snowy owls are like us. The females never competely become white. Instead, they remain brownish with darker markings. These large owls usually live in the Arctic, in open, treeless trees called tundra. their diets consists of small rodents, lemmings, rabbits birds and fish. The owl has an excellent eyesight, but they rely on their other keen sense of hearing, as they cannot see their prey if it's underneath snow or a thick layer of plants.
